Some kids collect stickers. Some kick soccer balls. Sapphire collects essential oils, studies ingredient labels, and has very strong opinions about what qualifies as a good lather.

It started at a soap-making workshop. She walked in a curious 8-year-old and walked out with a bar she made herself — and an idea she couldn’t stop thinking about. “I want to make more of these. I want to make them mine.”

That made complete sense to us. In our house, we read ingredient labels. We choose organic when we can. We think about what goes into our food and onto our skin. Sapphire grew up knowing that “natural” isn’t just a marketing word — it’s a standard. So when she said she wanted to make her own soap, she didn’t mean she wanted something that smelled nice. She meant she wanted to make something real — with ingredients she chose, blends she designed, and quality she could stand behind.

Meet S & J

The S is Sapphire — our founder, creative director, chief nose, and quality control department. She designs every essential oil blend from scratch, picks every mica color, and personally signs off on every batch. She has been obsessed with yummy smells since before she could read the back of a bottle. Now she reads every back of every bottle.

The J is her dad — he handles the business side, the website, the labels, and makes sure everything meets FDA cosmetic labeling standards. He also serves as the official “does this smell amazing or too amazing?” second opinion.

What we believe in

We live primarily organically. We’re conscious about what we eat and what we put on our skin. That philosophy is in every bar we make:

  • Organic plant-based bases — Aloe Glycerin, Three Butters, or Goat Milk — palm oil-free, SLS-free, SLES-free. Always.
  • Real essential oils, not fragrance — We use individual oils and blend them ourselves. No synthetic fragrance blends, no mystery ingredients.
  • Full ingredient transparency — Every product lists the complete INCI ingredient list, in the correct order. You’ll never see “fragrance” as a catch-all on our labels.
  • Small batch, made by hand — Every bar is poured by Sapphire, in limited quantities. Popular batches get remade — we track every recipe and every batch so we always know what to bring back.

Why we started

Because Sapphire went to a workshop, fell completely in love with making soap, and refused to stop. And because we believe that an 8-year-old who knows what she wants, works for what she loves, and cares deeply about the quality of what she makes deserves to be taken seriously.

Where we’re based

Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey. Right by the shore. The salt air, the boardwalk, and the ocean absolutely make their way into our scent inspirations.
